Michelle Mlati

Michelle Mlati is an independent curator, writer and researcher from South Africa. She works at the intersections of art and architectural and urban design practices from the 1960s to the present. As a 2023 ICI Curatorial Research Fellow under the Marian Goodman Gallery Initiative in honour of the late Okwui Enwezor, she is researching the Forest and Desert School, a movement that emerged in Sudan in the 1960s. Together with Pablo Barrios Martinez, she is part of the collective Corner Store for Art, Nature and Architecture, a multi-geographical curatorial network.
