Brazil is finally starting to look at itself

Rosana Paulino’s work was first exhibited in Brussels at Centrale for Contemporary Art in the group exhibition ‘Incorporations’ (2011). This exhibition, which explored the African influence on Brazilian culture and society, coincided with the Europalia Brazil festival. I don’t recall seeing her work at the time.
