In Älvdalen, a small town in the North of Sweden, there once lived a girl named Gertrud. In 1667, when she was eleven years old, Gertrud was accused of walking on water. After being horribly tortured by a local priest, she confesses to sorcery, setting off a firestorm of accusations in the region. Hundreds of women are executed after being accused of witchcraft.
